I recently had the opportunity to take a much needed sabbatical. So I packed my bags and drove down to the west coast of Florida for a few months. During my time there I took in everything the area had to offer. Below is a collection of images that document some of the fantastic sights I was able experience.
The first thing that stood out to me was the exceptional combination of both breathtaking sunsets and coastal wildlife.
Beautiful beaches and crescent shaped islands make way to tidal pools and lagoons.
Lagoons turn into dense swamps and forests; with their own unique wildlife.
However, it always seems to come back to the sunset celebrations.
Where the pristine shores meet the gulf, kite surfers congregate.
Skyscrapers make way to small towns with interesting characters.
As the sun creeps down past the horizon on the last evening, it is finally time to go home. However, the journey back north proves to be filled with just as many captivating sights.
